Taking the Sting Out of Stigma
Back by popular demand from the 2016 Convention, with expanded time for participant sharing and exercises. Join Holly Cohen and Nancy Williams in this interactive session as they explore not only environmental stigma in family, social, and workplace environments but also the psychological stigma that people with hearing loss may experience within. The session will empower attendees to confront stigma by learning eight tools. Participants will have the option to commit to one sustainable (and meaningful) tool to take home. This dynamic workshop is for people with hearing loss, their family and friends, and for healthcare professionals who treat hearing loss.
